Snowshoe Visit Highlights Wyoming Forest Tour
Jarnen EB of the Wyoming National Forest with Forest Rangers G J Barstow and Win Mace visited Kemmerer last Thursday. Jewell reports heavy snow in Star Valley up to six feet near the summit and two and a half feet in the valley, hindering mail and travel. He plans a snowshoe trek from Piney to Afton along Snyder basin over about five miles, expecting three days and a cabin stop each night while meetings with free users and small stockmen promote forest rules and the new honor system. Barstow and Mace then returned to their districts.
