Col Horace E Christmas Dies in Salt Lake City
Colonel Horace E Christmas a leading Wyoming attorney and Kemmerer resident died Monday night in Salt Lake City after a brief illness. Born in England in 1857 he practiced law in Kemmerer after a career with Union Pacific and the First National bank of Rock Springs. He organized Wyoming's first National Guard and served as colonel for five years. He is survived by a widow Margaret Jo Leggat and eight children.

The visiting Stovkmen committee of the Kemmerer Chamber of Commerce has nearly completed plans for the Wyoming Stock Growers convention to be held April 11 and 12. The Redpath number and the Lehman Quintet instrumentalists will perform at the Lyceum Hall on the 11th, followed by a dance. A free entertainment is planned for the evening of the 10th at the New Kemmerer theatre. Sessions occur at the New Kemmerer theatre with lectures by County Agricultural Agent Reed on poisonous plants of the range. Hotels expect to host visitors with many Kemmerer homes opening to accommodate guests.
