Liberty Loan Drive Opens With Wave Of Patriotism
A vivid launch for the Third Liberty Loan in Kemmerer on Saturday April 6 marks Liberty Day Win the War Day and Flag Day all in one. The parade led by the band moved through the business district with participation from the 100 Per Cent American Club Odd Fellows Red Cross and high school students. Banners urged bonds and unity while kids waved and carried red white and blue caps. At the Lyceum hall a large crowd gathered as Mrs P J presided over the program, the band played Stars and Stripes Forever, and speakers including Hebard from the state university addressed war conditions with fervor. Pat Glasgow wore the ermine in a test case yesterday as the court heard a prior incident involving Tan Rafferty. Rafferty, about a month ago, feloniously purloined whiskey from Cokeville. He pleaded guilty to petit larceny and was fined 25 with costs and alternatives.

Fatal Shooting at Cokeville Ends in Death
Two colored section hands clashed Thursday near Cokeville with prior threats noted. Will Thomas shot Andrew Millen in a guarded confrontation. Millen died in Kemmerer hospital Saturday.
