Stanley County Fair Highlights And Local Moves
The Stanley County Fair drew strong crowds with fine exhibits and a strong showing of melons and garden produce. Local events include James Swisher and three sons visiting Wakama, Thomas Polkinghorne finishing a new barn, W C Monette and wife returning from Iowa, Wm Barrer taking a barber shop position in Kadoka, and Fay Swisher vacationing three weeks to help neighbors with watermelons. Governor Crawford and Congressman Martin to speak in Kadoka September 15, with county candidates present for voter outreach.

Local Notes and Social Gullies From The Week
A hot wind visited us last Monday and a light shower settled the dust Wednesday morning. Mr and Mrs Davis called on Mr and Mrs Nellis last Monday evening. Mrs Moore visits from Mitch ell and Des Moines Iowa. Miss Maggie Getchel spent Monday night with Miss Mina Eggers. Mrs Ed Freemole sells postal cards. Prof Nellis went to Kadoka Saturday to open school Monday but returned Sunday as the school house was not ready. Kadoka expects school to start September 14. Mr McHenay lost a fine horse last week banner. A train load of hoboes are stationed here for railroad work leveling the track.
