Reporter nabbed by Rockdale’s mayor scandal claim

A Rockdale murder probe led to the arrest of allied suspects including King Phillips, a SBS publications reporter charged with securing news on false pretenses by using the Joliet Daily Republican name to gain prestige. Workman I5 Struck by Casting at Joliet Plant

James E. Stanner of Joliet Pure Ice Co was seriously injured when a heavy casting broke loose at the plant around 1 am. It struck his face, fracturing his skull and cutting his features. he was rushed to Silver Cross hospital and remained unconscious for a period.
