Mrs Henry T Truby learns Chauncey M Fryer has died in San Francisco. Fryer left Joliet fifteen years ago for Chicago then vanished. He worked in printing and engraving in the Golden Gate city. Mrs Truby may move his body to Joliet. He was son of the late Joseph Fryer, former township supervisor.
The man, who feared returning to the ship, escaped detection but chose to surrender. Over the past year and a half he has worked on railroads in the west and south, living in constant fear of capture.

Terpsighore was honored at the Visitation and Aid Society charity ball held last evening. The annual event drew several local figures and was reported as one of the most enjoyable in city history.
