Anniversary Chronicle of the New Orleans Jewish Orphans Home
The report covers events from 1858 and 1859, noting the Home’s third and fourth annual meetings. It records 194 members and 30 inmates in 1858, a $5,151.45 year receipts with $4,951.44 disbursements, and a $1,750 repair contract. Fundraising included a $1,112.58 concert. Miss Hart led the school. Mrs Haber chaired honorary matrons. Feb 1859 saw a nearly $5,000 voluntary offering. Membership rose to 249, with 78 admissions that year.
