A compilation of disparate 1895 items covers corn prices in Sushel Mexico, burglaries in the United States, cabinet talk for a president, presidential term age, votes for women in Idaho and other states, counterfeit bills, river navigation, cabinet selection woes, coffins bought in San Francisco, libel damages for the Omaha World-Herald, advice to weed scrub stock, farm fruit costs, beef prices from farm to New York hotels, Beaver City horse diseases, Alemena farmer losses, a deceptive fountain pen scheme, and signature forgery risks in contracts.
A rumor says a coming legislature session may submit a constitutional amendment to move the state capital from Lincoln to a more central location with Hastings Grand Island or Kearney as candidates. A Washington dispatch reports heads of departments have been told to list officials eligible for removal when the new administration arrives to aid McKinley and his cabinet with patronage information.
National Commander Clarkson and several craft members visited McKinley on Wednesday and invited him to attend the encampment. He replied, If the Lord is willing, I will be there.
