A Personal Essay On Job Bias And A Traffic Cop Encounter
The piece reflects on past discrimination in jobs favoring white males and the impact of enforcement of anti bias laws. It recounts a 1985 traffic stop by a black county cop named Owen Hobbs on I 74 and contrasts rude conduct with respectful officers who handled tickets properly. It ends with sympathy notices, a bid call in Harrison for an ambulance, and a closing personal sign off by Geraldine R. Dole.
