James C. Howard owner of Howard's Grocery in Harrison Ohio died at Christ Hospital Cincinnati on Wednesday morning June 12 1985 prior to funeral services by Snow Lodge No 193 F A M where he had been a member for over three decades
Lori Kay Cornett graduated from Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing on June 15 at Mount St. Joseph College commencement. A 1982 Brookville High School alumna and daughter of Joy Cox Cornett of Rockdale Indiana, she was feted Sunday June 16 at her Drewersburg Road home in Cincinnati.
James Helms principal of East Central High School Brookville Indiana completed a three day Marine Corps tour at Parris Island South Carolina June 5 to 7 as guest of the Commandant and Recruiting Service in Cincinnati Ohio He observed basic training of recruits from the eastern United States during the visit

Elizabeth Turrell of the Othnei Looker Chapter Harrison Ohio won third place in the Evelyn Cole Peters national contest, part of the American Heritage division of the National Society of the DAR. The entry stood among 129 poems from 35 states and Mexico. first and second place went to DAR members in Georgia and Marietta Ohio.
