Band Director Doug Parrott to resign district post
William Henry Harrison High School band director Doug Parrott informed district officials of his intent to resign from the Seidlenceat Local School District. Superintendent Errol Frank said Parrott plans to fulfill duties through the summer while he pursues a music career with elementary students.

Riverfront Community Nite updates and ticket details
City officials were updated last week about Riverfront Stadium events on Wednesday July 31. A block of 500 tickets is available with main sales at the Community Center on George St and also at the Utilities office Harrison Cleaners local newspaper offices and possibly a local bank. No city transport will be provided but community groups may arrange buses. A color guard will perform during the national anthem and Karen Berkey a Southwest Local School teacher may hold auditions to sing. Contacts will be made with local youth baseball and softball groups to gauge interest.

Vaquero Wranglers 4-H Charity Horse Show Planned
The Vaquero Wranglers 4-H Club will host its 14th annual charity horse show on Sunday June 30 at 10 a.m. at the Gymkhana Club on Harrison Ave Gate. Admission is 1.00 for adults, free for children under twelve. Half the proceeds go to the Children's Hospital Research Center. Food and beverages will be served on the grounds by 4-H parents.

Hit By Car While Mowing Grass On Pinhook Road
A Pinhook Road resident mowing his lawn Sunday night was struck and dragged 80 feet by a car that skidded off the road for 39 feet and hit a cement block. Eddie Brickner, 19, was struck by the car’s left front fender and dragged. Bond for Michael G. Witte was set at $1500. A trail date is set for August. Harrison Police assisted. the driver says another car forced him off the road.
