The Harrison Elementary faculty held a Bon Voyage luncheon on Friday June 6 at 11:30 AM in the Harrison Elementary Cafeteria at 600 Broadway. Honored were retiring teachers Mrs. Hilda Mueller and Miss Virginia Blackburn as a large group of teachers, friends, and administrators attended.
Graduates receive diverse awards for higher education with full athletic scholarships and merit grants. Recipients include Jeff Biddle at Cincinnati, Matt Callan at Illinois, Steve Gulley and mM steve Gulley at Virginia Military Institute, and others bound for Cincinnati Technical College, Ohio Northern, Mount St. Joseph, and more with Ohio Educational Grants and PTA scholarships.
The 95th annual commencement was held Thursday June 5 1975 at 8 00 P M in the high school gymnasium. An overflow audience saw 218 graduates receive diplomas as William J Ennis attorney delivered the commencement address.
Jacob Bachman aged 52 of 8500 Mt Hope Rd Harrison was shot in the head by an irate neighbor during a garden dispute. He was treated and released at Cincinnati General Hospital after the 3 30 p m Sunday shooting on the Taylor property. Shirley E Taylor 59 of 8451 Mt Hope Rd was charged with felonious assault and jailed before bail.
The Harrison program runs June 15 to 19 with morning sessions for grades 1-4 from 9 to 12 and afternoon sessions for grades 5-8 focused on clay projects then baking and painting. Thursday features copper making pictures and framing.
The blood mobile will be at the American Legion Home on Vine Street Tuesday June 24 from 3 PM to 9 PM. Prospective new members may join the club at this time and former members are asked to donate a pint of blood. No Legion membership is required to join or donate. For information call 367 4343.

Steve Safford resigns as head football coach of the Harrison Wildcats to take the head job at his alma mater Point Pleasant High School in West Virginia. He led Harrison to a 34-15-1 record with two Hamilton County League titles and East West game appearances before leaving to join a larger program.
Rita Acra was highlighted in the June issue of Women Sports as the top female athlete at William Henry Harrison High School. She kept a B average, played varsity, and earned a Billie Jean King signed certificate and engraved trophy. Harrison Class of 1950 seeks Gladys Lamb and notes a Lamb sister also attended school.
Gina Hollin daughter of Mr and Mrs Cecil Hollin of 150 Etta is among fifty four students graduating from Cincinnati Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing in ceremonies on Sunday June 15 1975. She will remain at Good Samaritan Hospital as a staff nurse.
Harrison Police records state on Wednesday June 4 1975 at 210 pm James Randall Yeager 607 Harrison Ave Harrison Ohio age 23 was arrested in front of his home on a drugs case involving different types of drugs.
