A week ago at Miami Whitewater Forest the day camp attracted 17 S girls who participated in a variety of activities and earned badges.
The University publishes a President's List of 454 students with 4.0 grade averages for spring quarter and a Deans List of 1709 with averages above 3.5. Local entries include Sherri Ann Aigner Constance Ann Cunningham Ellerman and Jill Lynn Hiler.
Dan Bamonte, longtime assistant varsity coach, is named head football coach after the committee’s unanimous choice from five candidates. Bamonte, a Vietnam veteran and Xavier University graduate student, lives in Harrison with wife Kathy and two children.
Obituary notes the death of the former editor of the Valley Journal. The service was held Thursday July 17. Survivors include Mrs. Bobbie Jo Harris of Chillicothe and Mrs. Sheila Jane Kelley of Cleves, two brothers Robert M and W, and several great grandchildren.
The Century and Silver parade co chaired by the Harrison Jaycees and the Century and Silver committee will line up 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Industrial Drive near Campbell-Hausfeld and start at 2:00 p.m. The route runs Campbell Road to State Street and ends at Harrison Grade with participants including horses dogs floats and marching units.
Wildcat Boosters solicit community support for ads in 1975-76 football and basketball game programs. The campaign aims to raise funds and boost school spirit for the Wildcats' upcoming seasons.
The South Western Ohio Conservation Club will sponsor an Ohio State approved Hunter Safety Course and a Home Firearm Safety Course on August 12 17 and 24 1975. All ages are welcome from 12 years old.
Friday afternoon host Cliff Zimmer gave area newsmen a preview of his new 24 lane bowling alley Decanter Lounge and Banquet Room. Ronald Eakins 32 of Rushville Indiana apparently suffered a heart attack while driving a grain truck on I-74 Monday July 21 The Harrison Life Squad located his vehicle off the roadway in a ditch about 400 feet west of the Eastbound exit He was found at 2 14 a m and pronounced dead at St George Hospital at 3 00 a m
The annual Community Bible School runs August 4 to 8 in downtown Harrison churches from 7 to 9 pm. Nursery groups serve ages 3 to 4 at First program Church, ages 5 to 6 at St John UCC. Primary classes meet at United Methodist Church, First Christian Church hosts upper grades. The study theme explores lives of key figures.
Becky Bennett travels to Greece for a three week tour with three Cincinnati cousins. She will be joined by her brother Chris and mother staying with grandparents Mr and Mrs Nick Lambros in Harrison. The group plans to depart with the Orthodox Church tour.
The 43 million dollar Brookville Lake Indiana dedication is set for Saturday morning July 26 at the Mounds Recreation Area on State Highway 101 four miles north of Brookville. Public viewing is free 8 to 11 a.m. The Boat Parade assembles at 9 a.m. with Phil Bilose as parade marshal and Vearl Hertel and John Back assisting. The Imperial Aquanauts Ski Show performs at 9:30 a.m. and the official dedication begins at 10:30 with Assistant Secretary of the Army Victor Veysey and Indiana Governor participating.
The Hamilton County Bicycle Safety Lane conducts three tests from July 28 to July 30 at Harrison Municipal Building Cleves and North Bend locations then Addyston Elementary and Miami Heights on July 29 30. The 1975 schedule spans 79 dates across 51 communities with Coca Cola and Sheriff Patrol sponsorship.
A ticket sale is set for 12 noon Saturday July 19 at the Harrison Municipal Building. Kirk Morris is identified as the son of Dr and Mrs Richard Morris. Pictured is the Vice- line incomplete but indicates a local political or civic feature.
