To the editor the writer credits Harrison police and a night patrolman for finding an open church door at 1 30 a m and extinguishing a fire during a dawn check. The note recalls a prior incident when a man collapsed during a Sunday service.
Break-in at Bright Trading Post reported at 5 47 a m with theft believed to occur between 3 30 and 5 30 a m. Loss includes 95 dollars and jewelry along with 12 to 15 pocket knives and 60 boxes of rifle shells plus ammunition totaling about 1500 dollars. Police investigating.
The Harrison Republican Club met at Sunset Inn on Jan 20 to discuss the Lincoln Day Dinner set for February 17 on President's Day. A reservations notice will follow.

Ricky L. Long 21 of Harrison had his sentence suspended and received two years probation. His brother James D. Long Jr. 22 and Charles W. Freeman 18 will be sent to a diagnostic center before assignment to a correctional facility after a break in at Everett C. Simpson’s home in Manchester.
Brookville Dam manager Turner denies a leak after a mud slide on the west side. He says there is no connection to the dam and notes ongoing work to fix the slide area while the lake level was being monitored.
Paul Kuhn is appointed superintendent in Turlock California. Mrs. Kuhn teaches first grade in Meigs Local Schools. He graduated from Kent State University in 1957.
The Harrison Wildcats split two games last week. They beat North College Hill 59 to 57, then lost to Rising Sun 87 to 62. Meece led with 14 points, Nolan 11, Kaufhold 10 as the Cats fought hard in a team effort.
