Head Start Christmas Dinner at Whitewater Center
The second annual Head Start Christmas dinner for Heaven Head Start families was held December 15 at the new Whitewater Community Center. Under Assistant Director Kay Schaffer, two turkeys were roasted and families shared dishes while donations from Kenner Toy Co Avon and the American Federation of Riders funded clothing for each child. 4-H involvement highlighted youth development and community support.

Rite Aid Corporation said fiscal results show record sales and higher earnings. For the year to date, net income rose to 15.453 million, up 16.4 percent. earnings per share advanced 22.6 percent to 0.38. For the 39 weeks ended December 1, net income reached 43.663 million, up 17.2 percent, with 39-week sales at 1.037 billion, up 21.0 percent. The company operates 1,265 drugstores in 20 states and owns 191 Circus World stores and other holdings.
