Major Barbara Rounds of the 311th Station Hospital Sharonville Ohio was named 1984 Soldier of the Year for her unit. She coordinated an early Expert Field Medical Badge program for a reserve unit and earned an Oak Leaf Cluster to the Army Commendation Medal. She served in Chu Lai while on active duty.

Diamond Oaks Career Development Campus in Dent hosts Visitation Day on January 31 for tenth and eleventh graders from Great Oaks districts Finneytown Harrison Mt Healthy North College Hill Oak Hills and Taylor. Eleventh graders may tour three vocational programs during the school day registration with counselors is required Open House runs 6 30 to 9 30 p m for parents and visitors. Programs include Floor Mechanics Sales Marketing and Senior Office Education. Diamond Oaks is part of the Great Oaks Joint Vocational School District which offers 27 programs. RL Breaks Ground for New Plant in Butler County
RL Industries Inc broke ground for a 54,000 square foot manufacturing plant in Butler County to consolidate all operations in one facility in Miamitown.
