Tax Institute Discusses Proposed Reform At Indianapolis Meeting
The Indiana Society for CPAs and Indiana Bar Association held a tax review in December at the Indianapolis Convention Center. The Rehabilitation Credit would cut back unless used on pre 1935 buildings with a 20 percent credit for certified historic structures. The Targeted Jobs Credit would extend two years but reduce wages credit to 40 percent with a 14 day minimum. Corporate rates would rise in bands and, despite optimism, investment credit remains weak. Robert P. Sonntag, fifth generation Indiana graduate, notes changes and next week will spell out further reforms.
