Washington May 13 The British embassy says Lord Pauncefote's illness is serious and causes family anxiety yet no immediate danger is now apprehended for him. Numerous anxious inquiries have followed earlier reports about his condition.
Three hundred fifty workers from Peoples Gas Light and Coke Co. and Ogden Gas Co. walked off Monday night in Chicago. They quit after several colleagues were discharged for joining the Gas Workers' union.

In Pittsburg on May 12, Mrs Cath erine Soffel pleaded guilty to aiding the Biddle burglars and murderers Edward and John Biddle and received a two year term in the western penitentiary. Walter Dorman, a Biddle gang member who turned state's evidence and pled guilty to Kabney’s murder, was sentenced to death with expected pardon to life imprisonment.
Berlin May 12 reports Prince Henry of Prussia has inherited the Rheinstein castle at Bingen on the Rhine from Prince George of Hohenzollern a cousin of Emperor William who died May 4.
