The burial and funeral services for Judge Noah Davis were held Sunday at the Presbyterian church in Albion. Rev. F. W. Lewis led the rites with assistance from Rev. F. S. Dunham of the Episcopal church. Interment followed at Mt. Albion cemetery.
Fire swept South McAlester March 24 destroying Peter Iveys meat market and seven other frame structures. The 60 year old owner Peter Ivey’s body was recovered in the ruins, with foul play suspected.
Manila reports a Laguna remnant under Caballos surrendering to Lieut. Col. Dougherty of the 7th Infantry with 47 rifles and 18 revolvers. Caballos ordered the Laguna insurgents to cease hostilities. Gen Maxilom and his brother, arrested in Cebu for rifles and ammunition, tried to escape aboard a launch, stabbed the master, were overpowered, with the brother killed. the general was bound and handed to American authorities.
The United Mine Workers districts 1 7 and 9 adjourned sine die after adopting a provisional strike ultimatum. They demand a shorter work day, a minimum wage, wage increases, and coal weighing where feasible while awaiting Civic Federation arbitration to avert a possible 100 year repeat of past strikes.
Miss Blanche Boise, allied with Mrs Nation, horsewhipped Topeka Mayor Parker in his city hall office. She struck him three times, then he restrained her, disarmed the whip, and ejected her into the hall. In Reading Pennsylvania on March 25 employees of the Reading Iron Co. presented a petition requesting a wage increase for puddlers from four to four and a half dollars per ton and a proportional raise for all other workers. The proposed raise would affect about 2,000 hands.
Paris reports the chamber of deputies approved a credit of 500000 francs by 469 to 32 to cover expenses of President Loubet s trip to Russia. The senate followed with unanimous approval, supporting the funding for the state visit.
Four women inmates escaped from the Ft Scott jail in Kansas and were recaptured. They confessed that Peter Sheffley Red Taylor and Charles Snyder aided in picking the jail doors. All three men have been arrested in connection with the break.

Cumberland Maryland report states Jack A Ellis an actor with the Vandyke ston Co. died at the Blenavon hotel in Grafton West Virginia on Sunday from typhoid pneumonia. He was about 45 years old and had been playing a week in Cumberland.

Raymond Lacky was beaten and Thomas Huddleson cut and bruised in separate fights, both strikers. Three strikers and one non union man were arrested after authorities had enjoined picketing and interference.
Dayton Ohio report states Mrs. Augusta Reed filed for divorce from John F. Reed claiming neglect drunkenness and infidelity since their 1880 Stillwater Junction marriage. She says 21 children born to the union with seven aged 4 to 17 living with her.
Delaware Ohio March 24 Mrs Ella Loveless of Ostrander admits stealing goods from Columbus Marysville and Delaware merchants. A Delaware clerk detected her and she was arrested with over 100 dollars worth of silks hats and ornamental ware in her buggy.
Zanesville Ohio March 24 A W Starker brother in law of Clerk of Courts J B Carson was killed Sunday in a coal mine near New Lexington. He died when a slate fall crushed him during an inspection tour. He leaves a widow and four children.
In Akron on a Monday, Mrs John Palmer shouted I am not Carrie Nation but Clara Palmer then seized glasses and hurled them at a stove. She splashed beer on a patron and left with her husband whose presence in the saloon sparked her anger.

Four large Cleveland hardware firms cited options on stocks and trade to a proposed hardware syndicate. In Columbus, a Cincinnati barber petition of 400 opposes the barbers license bill, with Cleveland barbers also against it.
Samuel C. Buckles of Columbus, a Spanish-American War veteran, was struck and killed instantly by a Wisconsin Central train at the Grove Street crossing of the Illinois Central in Chicago on March 24.
