A body identified as John Schull farm-hand of Brecksville was exhumed and proven to be Anthony Fee who disappeared two weeks earlier with Irving Johnson. Fee left a train at Willow. a body was later found in a pond. A daughter of Schull’s employer identified the body as Schull without seeing it. Mrs. Fee became distressed awaiting word from her husband. Intuition led to the belief the pond body was the husband and father.
Five Yosemite valley stages were halted and robbed near Ahwanee California. A masked bandit waved a pistol and ordered passengers to surrender money and jewelry as each stage arrived, repeating the act on all five vehicles before vanishing into the brush.

Two men Oscar Underwood and Joseph Ayers were mortally injured when a 60 foot smoke stack toppled at the Front street pumping station of Cincinnati’s water works. Underwood died two hours later at city hospital and Ayers died soon after at Good Samaritan hospital. The stack fell in railroad yards between cars, with nearby moving engines a few feet away. A gust of wind is blamed for the accident.
Rev. Brice Brown pastor of the First Christian church was held up by two men in white masks near Mansfield Ohio on his way home from prayer meeting. He knocked the weapon aside and fled while the attackers fired three shots but caused no injury.

Frede Gim, 40, of Chiltown, is in critical condition at Youngstown City Hospital after breaking his neck when he fell while picking cherries at home. It reportedly took five hours to reach hospital. he has a wife and child and is not expected to recover.
Wellston Ohio July 7 Coalton a mining village about 1000 residents five miles from Wellston prides itself on having a one-armed mayor and a one-armed chief of police. Hillas Turner is police chief and Abraham James is mayor both miners and popular. The mayor was formerly Coalton's premier baseball pitcher.
Harry Kendall Thaw had a quiet day in the Tombs reading papers until 10 am, attended prison service, and exercised in the yard. Assistant District Attorney Garvan worked on the Thaw case in his office. Edna McClure, a Broadway actress, visited with her mother for about an hour, but Garvan would not discuss the conference.
An explosion at the Union Portland cement factory in Bellefontaine Ohio July 9 left two men dead and one fatally burned, with property loss estimated at ten thousand dollars. The dead were identified as John Scott and another unidentified man. M D Thomas suffered severe burns and is in critical condition.
Sidney on July 4 was quiet with no firecrackers or fireworks within city limits. The city council had recently passed an ordinance prohibiting fireworks any day of the year, creating an unusual day of calm amid celebrations.
On a Wilmington to Stedman excursion train a man named Ellison from Autreyville rose in a crowded coach and announced he would kill everyone. Passen ger Bledsoe of Stedman shot Ellison, killing him instantly. A loaded revolver was found in each of Ellison’s hands and a jug of whisky lay between his legs. Bledsoe surrendered to authorities.
Elihu Root secretary of state arrived aboard the Charleston for the Rio Janeiro Pan American congress and was entertained at the Union club by George Cabot Ward. Attendees included United States and insular officials, military and naval authorities of Porto Rico, and Spanish merchants and bankers. Hyde proposed a toast to President Roosevelt as Root reflected on Porto Rico during military rule and the island’s path to prosperity.
The British Admiralty will replace American tinned meats with Australian or Argentine brands after a ship refused American rations during naval maneuvers. New South Wales inspectors ensure only healthy beeves are slaughtered with strict freezing and canning controls. Slaughtering a diseased beast or selling diseased meat carries imprisonment, and licenses are withdrawn for cleanliness breaches. Jack Sweet of Grub Gulch in Madeira County is believed by authorities to have held up Yosemite stages. Reports say he is under arrest and moved to Wawona for identification. Sweet, a laborer and landowner, had once offered an alibi preventing previous arrest.

Steubenville report of John Aella 19 and Peter Aella 20 both brothers perishing in a deep hole at Cross creek near Mingo Junction. They went down locked in each other's embrace as onlookers of about 50 locals stood by unable to help.

In Cleveland on July 9 Elzie Bell aged 17 is dying at home after a confrontation on a streetcar where her father found another man with his wife. The girl, already troubled by heart disease, collapsed upon hearing the news.
In Mansfield Ohio on July 9 Antonine Eratt aged 16 drowned at Painter Lake while allegedly playing tricks in the water. He disappeared and was later found dead, with officials noting the incident.
Vigo dispatch reports insubordination aboard the Russian cruiser Terek has been greatly exaggerated. There was no mutiny aboard the anchored vessel and the report was unfounded.

Mrs. William McKinley donated four memorial art glass windows to the First Methodist Episcopal church of Canton in honor of the late president. The windows will cost several thousand dollars and use the finest glass. Designs by a major eastern art glass firm are held by the church trustees, which currently has only a small brass McKinley pew tablet as a memorial.
In Last Chance near Auburn California a jealous saloonkeeper Carlos Dorka hunted Frank Tillotson, the Home Ticket mine superintendent. He shot William Politka, mistaken for Tillotson, then Dor ka found Tillotson and shot him. Dorka was mortally wounded.
John Anderson, a farmer in Middletown, Ct, found the body of his friend George Goodale in a small house he lived alone. Goodale, who had recently sold a house for a thousand dollars, was murdered with a skull fracture and deep cuts above both eyes. whether theft occurred is unknown.
Sandusky Ohio July 9 Richard Kamin died suddenly while at a supper table at the Hotel Kunseman. Although guarded by a patrolman the victim was robbed of his watch before aid could reach him.
Governor Harris selects Judge Charles C. Lemert of Kenton as executive clerk in Columbus Ohio on July 7, succeeding Judge John S. Black of Cambridge. Lemert previously held the post under Nash and Herrick administrations.
Dayton reports engineer Harry A Clayton died in a collision on the C H D near Spencerville. Son of former Patrolman S S Clayton now on pension. Remains brought to his home.
London report states the municipality of Tokio will borrow 7,500,909 dollars at five percent with an issue price of 96 from a foreign syndicate to redeem the water works loan and other bonds.
Six year old Robert Gibson son of Benjamin Gibson was mauled by a large hound in Youngstown Ohio on July 7. The dogs bite nearly chewed off the boy's face before rescuers arrived.
The infant son of Crown Princess Frederick William was born on the Fourth of July in Berlin. The American colony plans to present him an ornamental silver cup bearing the stars and stripes and the American eagle to mark the occasion.
Mr. Hedrick, a traveling salesman, was hit on the head by a ball while watching a ball game in Mechanicsburg. He lost consciousness and is reported to be suffering concussion with fatal prospects.

Steubenville July 7 Fred Breen age 12 and Earl Oliver age 10 sons of Dr. J A Oliver drowned in the Ohio river while bathing Breen entered a gravel hole and Oliver attempted to aid him when both were swept to depths two youths perished in the tragedy near the river outlet of the city river authorities investigate the accident
In Beverly Marietta O July 7 Philip Hogue nine son of Dr William Hogue Beverly drowned while bathing in the Muskingum river Three other small boys were nearly drowned while trying to rescue their companion.
Birmingham official David Simpson secretary treasurer of Gregory Vinegar Co. shot and killed himself on the steps of St. Marys Church in the highlands. No motive has been assigned.
