Peters broke an arm, motorman Ed L. Frobey couldn’t explain why front axles turned, rear wheels stayed on track, and a trolley pole caused the impact. Two bystanders were injured, and D. D. Jago suffered a deep knee cut from being thrown through a window.
Columbus Ohio dispatch reports Gen A M Warner among hopefuls for the Cincinnati insolvency judgeship. A veteran Civil War commander and Grand Army of the Republic figure, he visited Gov Harris seeking appointment. Warner enjoys strong support from Cincinnati attorneys and Civil War veterans.
Nellie Doyle Davis, described as the child wife of William Davis, confesses that her husband coerced her into thefts in Lima. She says he had her drink whisky, took her to St. John's Catholic Church during Christmas services, then waited as she wore and took garments. She claims he forced a choice between theft and losing his attention. Davis has fled the city. the grand jury will probe the tale.
Washington reports a prospective influx of 25 218 Japanese from Mexico into the United States. Some have arrived and others are en route seeking entry after working in Mexican development projects.
