Charles Brown married Miss Cora Sibley last Saturday in Manister Mica. After the ceremony the couple danced at a social gathering. About two hours later Brown collapsed and died from heart disease during the bridal dance.

Springfield Ohio December 10 Mrs Jacob Wagner of Tremont City left home briefly on an errand. While away her infant son’s clothing caught fire. She returned to find the child writhing in flames and rolled it to the floor but the baby died. The mother is grief stricken.
Washington dispatch reports from Mr. Tree the American Minister at Brussels that the independent State of Congo has contracted to establish a regular line of Belgian steamers between Antwerp and the Congo. Ships will depart Antwerp biweekly initially, then monthly.
Two life boats each carrying thirteen men were wrecked off Southport during a rescue attempt for a disabled vessel and all aboard perished. Weather and sea conditions hindered the effort as authorities confirmed the loss of every crew member.

He notes laminated granular quartz italcolumate talcose formation ferruginous clay debris from talcose rocks and that specimens tested by lapidaries denote carbon stones of value with a large specimen being dressed as a diamond though dark and less valuable as a brilliant. A geological party may visit Paducah in spring for survey and excitement runs high in the city.
In Braddock Pennsylvania last night a fast Pennsylvan ia railroad line struck four young people near the depot. Bridget McCarthy and John Toole were killed instantly. Barbara Conway and Estus Cook escaped with minor injuries. Residents of Braddock.
A Beech Creek railroad engine exploded near the station after leaving the shops, killing engineers Phil H. Knight and James Wearne and fireman Alien Ramsey. Machinists J C Field and J H Stapleton were seriously injured. Knight’s body and Ramsey’s were badly mutilated, Field’s was thrown 1500 feet. The steam gauge was suspected to have malfunctioned, registering only 140.
Curiaco Dec 9. Herman Roger a California citizen and Louis R. Roger a European citizen, through their attorneys, filed suit in the U S Circuit Court today against Herman and Julius Loeshher of Chicago for 50000 dollars. The plaintiffs claim they invented and patented machinery for treating hides in 1868 and allege the defendants have been making selling and using their invention.
