Dear Abby column on medical bias and gender roles
A reader asks how to handle a husband who refuses female doctors and fears male physicians as unsafe. Abby advises seeking best care, even from a man, and notes the absence of loss if the husband abandons her for choosing a male doctor. In a second letter the writer mocks equality protests, claiming women should not take bus seats or allow women to go first.
