Dear Evan Hansen at Playhouse Square a transformative return
This Cleveland Theater review praises the touring production of Dear Evan Hansen at Connor Palace. It commends Anthony Norman for a nuanced Evan and Colleen Sexton as his mother, with Benj Pasek Justin Paul score, Steven Levenson book, and production design by Weideman Korins. The piece notes the plot about a teen seeking connection after a suicide and how the show evolves into a moving emotional journey with timely social media elements. It also previews other regional shows Ain’t Misbehavin at Hanna Theatre and Ken Ludwig’s Moriarty at Allen Theatre with mixed assessments of their casts and direction.
