Buckeye Schools Superintendent Jeff Harrison resigns
Buckeye Local School District Superintendent Jeff Harrison plans to resign effective July 31. He will become superintendent of Brecksville Broadview Heights Schools in nearby Cuyahoga County starting August 1. Harrison cites leadership during the pandemic and progress on the Portrait of a Buck plan as his tenure highlights. Medina and Lorain counties report steady and rising jobless claims
Medina County posted 72 initial unemployment claims for the week ending May 13, eight fewer than the prior week, with a four week average of 72 and counts under 100 for a month. Lorain County rose to 211 claims for the week ending May 13, after fluctuations between about 200 and 300 in prior months. State totals also increased last week.
