Emergency farm bill would crown a sultan of agriculture
Rep. James Johnson warns the emergency farm bill gives the administration broad power to set higher target prices through 1981. The House approved the measure 212 to 182 and sent it to the White House. Officials say the first action may be a wheat price rise from 3.00 to 3.40 per bushel, while feed grains and cotton gains are unlikely due to diver sion payments.
