June 18 Medina Duplicate Bridge ran a seven table event with Mitchell movement. North South pairs were K Bates and P Lawson versus P Cummings and M Adams while East West pairs were L Downer and T Dillon versus L Doolittle and Brown. H Bates partnered M Oster.
Barbara M. White, U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, says International Women’s Year movement is revolutionary and will make women full participants in society. She notes global disparities, legal barriers, and high illiteracy among women, urging recognition of talent over gender stereotypes.
Chatham Methodist Women host an ice cream social with hot sandwiches salad baked beans and beverages plus a bake sale in the church dining room on June 28 starting at 9 p.m. Chippewa on the Lake Women's Club holds its White Elephant sale June 26 at the clubhouse with Mrs. Erma Homuth and Mrs. Edna Gsell as hostesses at 1 p.m. The 6th Annual Rose Luncheon at Church at the Lake is June 24 at 12 30 p.m. Tickets are sold in advance by Esther Circle. Weymouth Home Benefit Society luncheon June 25 at noon in the church parish hall public invited.
