Attorney Eastman faces disbarment bid over 2020 election plan
Los Angeles attorney John Eastman, architect of a strategy to overturn the 2020 vote, faces 11 disciplinary charges in the California State Bar Court. Prosecutors say his theory aimed to obstruct the electoral count and delay certification by Vice President Pence. Eastman argues he sought a legitimate legal debate on executive authority and delay for investigations. The hearing, expected to last at least eight days, includes testimony from former Pence lawyer Greg Jacob. Eastman has long legal pedigree but remains under scrutiny for alleged moral turpitude and dishonesty in pursuing an outcome contrary to democracy.
