Biden outlines phased Gaza cease fire and hostage deal plan
President Biden proposes a six month cease fire with hostage releases in exchange for prisoner releases and Israeli troop withdrawals. Phase one envisions humanitarian aid at scale with 600 trucks daily. phase two seeks a permanent halt to hostilities with broader hostage release and full Gaza withdrawal. Phase three aims at a multi year Gaza reconstruction and returning remains to families. The plan backs a two state solution and unification of Gaza with the West Bank under the Palestinian Authority, a point disputed by Netanyahu's government.
