Missouri abortion rights initiative headed for November ballot
Missouri voters will decide in November whether to enshrine a right to abortion via a constitutional amendment that would end the near total ban. The secretary of state certified the petition as valid, with the measure backed by Missourians for Constitutional Freedom and funded by Planned Parenthood affiliates and the ACLU. The initiative faces a majority vote to pass, joining other states weighing abortion rights in the presidential election. The SOS also certified initiatives on a $15 minimum wage and legalizing sports betting.
