Egypt's Supreme Constitutional Court declared an open ended legal strike as it was to rule on two assemblies allied with President Mohammed Morsi. Judges from higher and lower courts joined the walkout, joining a broader protest against what critics call Morsi’s assault on the judiciary.
At Miami International Airport a charter bus carrying 32 Jehovahs Witnesses collided with an 8 foot 6 inch concrete overpass. Two elderly men died at the scene and three others were critically injured. The bus, traveling about 20 mph, was reportedly lost and steered toward the departures area but struck the barrier, crumpling its roof. The victims identified were Serafin Castillo 86 and Francisco Arana 56, both of Miami. The group was en route to a church convention in West Palm Beach.
