Gastonia Center Management Faces Fresh Criticism
Gastonia City Council questioned Wilderman Group performance at the $10 million Gastonia Conference Center. Officials probed finances, lighting usage, marketing online, and customer feedback efforts as the center, opened in late 2011, faced a $290000 deficit in its first year, planned to be financed over 23 years. The firm founder John Wilderman defended progress after a six week shutdown and 179 events hosted in year one.
