CareMont Health outsourced inpatient care at Gaston Memorial Hospital to Cogent HMG, the nation’s largest private hospitalist company, effective November 1. Some physicians who had provided inpatient care declined to participate, while hospital leaders say the affiliation benefits patients and strengthens care.
