Meteorites From the Sun Theory Gains Support
The article surveys advocates for a solar origin of meteorites, citing Lockyear Proctor Secchi Young and others. It notes prominences on the sun eject liquid or solid masses and suggests meteorites may arise from solar eruptions propelled from beneath the sun. A Royal Astronomical Society note by Bunyard argues metallic vapors hurled from stars could form meteors, linking solar eruption to terrestrial magnetism.
