A dramatic incident in a saloon involved a woman drawing a revolver on a bartender and leading her husband out by the arm. Springfield reports plans to dedicate the Republican wigwam Thursday with speeches by General J L Bev eridge and J K Edsall, with O P Morton expected. Local weather notes say county outcrop was heavily damaged by recent rains. A presidential vote on a train yielded 13 for Grant and 2 for Greeley among white hats users.
Yesterday morning Prof. A Beideman staying at the Philadelphia House was seized by a fit while bathing and sank. Com Herst of Pittsburg and several others swam out and recovered the body placed in a life boat. Dr Andrew Neburger declared life extinct. Deceased was from Chicago.
The first car-load of 1872 wheat arrived in Chicago yesterday morning and sold at 125 percent per bushel. Last year the initial sale occurred on July 13. Iowa earns credit for sending the first car-load to this market.

William Walker, charged with stealing twenty five dollars from Robert Cristy, was discharged for want of evidence but fined ten dollars for carrying concealed weapons in brass hand knuckles. Wheat steady 145 to 160, corn 48 to 50 cents, oats 335 to 350, rye 15 cents, bulk meats steady to firm, bacon and hams mixed, whisky in higher demand, hogs firm at 43 to 45. Sales include 1600 bush No 2 red wheat at 155, 700 bush new white at 160, 700 bush mixed ear corn at 49, 7100 bush ear corn at 48, 450 brls whisky at 9, 75k lbs country rib sider and 80k lbs shoulders traded last evening.
