German fresh assault grips front between Mont Didier and Noyon

Paris June 10 German forces renewed heavy attacks on the Mont Didier Noyon front with substantial force. French and American troops in the center gained ground near Cavilly Wood and Ressy-Sur-Matz while prisoners were taken around Brossiarez on the Marne.

Slow German advance still checks Allied line near Amiens

German forces make limited gains along the Noyon to Mont Didier arc after a major Aisne offensive, facing stern Allied resistance. Deepest penetration reported is about 2.75 miles as reserves and terrain hinder the push toward Amiens. Captain MacKenzie and sixteen crewmembers of the sunk American steamer Pinar Del Rio were rescued after two days adrift in a lifeboat. They were found by a Norwegian steamship off the Maryland coast and arrived safely, suffering from exposure and hardship.
