Mrs Eugene C Powers died at eight days old in Lancaster born Carole M Sedgell in 1860s married in Berlin NH in 1808. The couple lived in Lunenburg before moving to this town two years ago. Funeral held May Ath with Rev G S Smith officiating. Interment Grove Cemetery East St Johnsbury. Survived by husband Clayton daughter Mrs Perley Sibby four grandchildren and many siblings and in laws. Mrs Ellen B Ward en died at Brightlock Hospital after April surgery. Daughter of Stephen Blaney and Calista Blodgett born in Cabot educated locally then taught in Cabot and nearby towns. Survived by two daughters, three brothers, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral at a Methodist church after Thursday service.

Thomas A Belmont, a Hardwick lifelong resident and noted stone cutter, died by suicide at his home early Monday. At about 2 AM he rose, prepared, and shot himself in the mouth from the barn area, dying instantly. He was 41, survived by his wife and two brothers.
