Grace Unity Club Turns In 1200 To Church
The Unity Club held its annual meeting at Greee Methodist church in St Johnbury Friday evening with strong attendance. Officers notes show ten meetings with solid turnout. the club earned 1505.18 and turned 1200 into the church Building Fund under retiring president Mrs Richmund Hamilton.

Red Cross Chapter in Orleans County Seeks Peace Program
Col C. B. Emery chaired a Friday meeting at Goodrich Library of the Orleans County Red Cross. Reports from the secretary treasurer Rev C W Kelley Newport Center were approved. Five of nine branches were represented. Treasury showed 1600. county membership 2108, about two thirds of yearly enrollment. Only 22 attendees noted, likely due to wartime conditions and branch representation. Emery praised the chapter and introduced Miss Maton Rowe of Boston appointed general representative of the New England Division. Rowe outlined Home Service and all Red Cross activities, urged tailored local plans, and noted differing regional needs. Continued on page ix.

Legion Beats Woodsville 30 to 14 on Road Trip
The American Legion basketball team defeated Woodsville by 30 to 14 after a special train trip from St. Johnsbury to Wells River. About two hundred fans rode the train with no stops, and the Woodsville arena hosted St. Johnsbury supporters who filled half the hall.
