March 26 London reports Allan Bell a silent magistrate who presided over Sinn Fein and Irish bank dealings was shot dead outside the Maxon ie club in Dublin. Lloyd George announced in the House of Commons that Bell was taken from an automobile by four armed bandits and killed.
About a score of Congregationalists from Caledonia and neighboring counties met at St Johnsbury House to map a May Inter-Church World Movement drive. County chairman E H Cowles led the conference while Rev C C Merrill outlined goals and methods for the campaign with a statewide quota totaling 11 780 across multiple towns and churches.

Paul Little, 12, son of Lexington businessman B E Little, was found safe in a hotel room after being held for ransom. He had telephoned home from the room and said he’d been prisoner since Wednesday night. Police reported the boy disappeared Monday from near the post office after being seen with a man. A boy was told to deliver candy for $1. A ransom note arrived at the father’s home. The father had earlier placed $25,000 in a Main Street garbage can, but the bundle remained when he returned. He hoped to recontact the kidnapper.

Federal district judges in New York ordered daylight saving time for courts in the district. Other federal agencies including the Customs House and Federal Reserve banks had already moved to summer time.
Geneva reports that former Emperor William of Germany withdrew 250000 Swiss francs from a Zurich bank in early March and sent the funds to Berlin before the late attempted reactionary revolt. The amount would be a snug fortune in Germany.
