Beatrice Runaway Boys Reunited by City Marshall
City Marshall E E McCune returned two teenage runaways Tuesday evening after learning one boy belonged in Beatrice. He contacted relatives and sent them home. Arthur Etchison and his wife from Oxford Kansas visited the area last week with their brother in law and sister, Mr and Mrs C Moser, who then toured Macedonia to visit kin and stopped at Shenandoah to see May and Fields broadcasting stations. They also visited brother Bert Etchison and family in Pawnee City before returning home Monday.

Weekend road trip with three drivers covers 1260 miles
Oliver Diehl and two university friends completed a Labor Day weekend journey from Omaha to Hay Springs and Hot Springs via route No 8. They drove three cars with rotating drivers every 100 miles, enjoying fried chicken meals, sight seeing, and returning home late Monday night with only a single puncture. The trip totaled about 1260 miles at nominal cost and produced many souvenirs.

Auto Crash Near Wahoo Injures Omaha Group
Mrs P S Beckwith and son Billie along with Alice Line and the Edmunds family narrowly escaped a wreck fifteen miles east of Wahoo Nebraska while returning from Lincoln. An unidentified driver failed to stop at a stop sign causing a collision risk. Edmunds was thrown free and survived as the car overturned onto its top. The group were treated at Wahco’s first aid and Immanuel hospital Omaha for bruises, fractures and gashes. Billie escaped unharmed.

Couple Wed At County Fair On Platform Ceremony
Ralph Specht age 18 of Diller and Alma Anderson age 17 of Steele City were married August 30 on the county fair platform. R. 8. Wilfley sang I Love You Truly, Rev Brumbaugh officiated. The fair board gave a $50 premium and Fairbury merchants donated gifts including knives and forks an electric iron a steak knife and a teapot.

Falls City visitors return from trip. auto crash injures two
Mr and Mrs Lewis Wenz with Low Wenz and family of Steele City returned Sunday from visiting relatives in Falls City. Mrs Bert Gerard Daisy London and her daughter from Diller vicinity were in an auto crash at Fairbury last Saturday. Their car was hit by a truck and rolled over near the Presbyterian church. Mrs Gerard suffered a broken rib and collar bone while the daughter had minor injuries.
