G B Pearce went to St. Louis on business and to visit a daughter. An inch forty five hundredths inches of rain fell near Diller Tuesday evening.

Mrs Pickard and granddaughter return from Illinois spree

Mrs Geo Pickard and her granddaughter Ethel Pickard returned Saturday from visiting relatives in Illinois. The Campbell Bros show sale at Fairbury Monday is noted, and the village board met Tuesday evening in adjourned session approving bills and passing a water works ordinance published elsewhere in the paper.

Burlington agent A T Watson reports selling 124 Lincoln tickets during state fair week. Geo Tjaden returned to Peoria after a several week visit with Diller relatives. St Richard Dibble of Beatrice and Mrs Anna Weaver wed Saturday in Beatrice and will reside on her Ellis area farm.

Beatrice Boosters Parade Through Diller With Music

A Burlington train carrying over a hundred Beatrice boosters and the Beatrice military band passed through Diller last evening. Beatrice factories were highlighted as the train's purpose. In Gage County orchards suffered heavy mortality due to cold winter and dry summer, aging trees likely unable to withstand repeated extremes.

Barn Fire Destroys Farm Assets In Storm Losses

A lightning struck barn on the Blauser Clark farm where John Wright lives burned Tuesday evening. Three horses 50 bushels of oats hay and harnesses were lost plus about 800 bushels of wheat stored there belonging to Paul Engelbrecht. The barn valued at 1000 with 500 insurance. insurance partially covers the wheat loss.
