World's Record for Three Furlongs by Carmisa at Emeryville
Carmisa a two year old thoroughbred won the third race at Emeryville California breaking the world's record for three and a half furlongs finishing in 40 25 seconds. She defeated Right Easy and Lulu G. The previous record of 40 14 was set by Judge Thomas at Butte on July 4 1902. Judge Thomas carried 134 pounds while Carmisa carried a light weight.
