Local notes and social items from Colman area

Say those mesh bags at Colman's are dandies. Mrs Chas Finch was an incoming passenger on No 15 Tuesday evening. About thirty of Miss Ives music pupils will take part in the recital at Loock's hall this evening. Miss Laura Freitag of near Diller is visiting with her sister Mrs Lawrence Caldwell near Jansen this week. Mr and Mrs S C Hutchinson went Wednesday to Sycamore Springs Rao where Mrs Hutchinson will remain a few weeks. Send your orders for job printing to the Record printery. Fire lightning and tornado insurance written at this office. D R Kelley returned Tuesday night on the special train from a business trip to Lincoln. J E B Clark made out to ship another car load of hogs Sunday. They are scarce however in this locality. Mr and Mrs Gee Williams of Sparta Wis arrived last Friday on visit to her sister Mrs J A Price and family. Frank Coniff who had visited here two or three weeks with his uncles C B and Cal Waggoner returned day to his home in Lincoln. Anyone wishing to secure a dressmaker and seamstress by the day can do so by calling on Miss Fern Pilger at Mrs Frank Pearces telephone No 14203.

Notice to stop hunting on my farm on Paul Stange land

All parties are hereby notified to stop hunting on my farm owned by Paul Stange. Mrs. J. W. Mathias and Grace and Mrs. Dora Nelson traveled to Washington and Hanover Kansas to visit friends and relatives. Mrs. McIntyre of Lincoln and three children visited Geo. Myers then went to Blue Springs to visit her parents. A cage of twelve was adopted into the M W A lodge last Saturday night thanks to Deputy C W Vennum and local members.

Racket Store Moves to New Building Adds Goods

The racket is now located in the new building two doors south of the old stand and will be glad to receive all callers. They are adding new goods daily to a full stock and making prices right.

Composer and attorney N K Griggs found dead in Alliance

Hon N K Griggs, once of Beatrice and later of Lincoln, was found dead in a sleeper berth in Alliance Nebraska early Monday. He was remembered by Diller residents who attended a recital at the M E Church four to six years ago.

A novel ice cream social is set for Saturday evening in the McManes Building to raise net proceeds for erecting chain hitching racks in Diller. Lyceum Club Plans Three Class Seating For Tickets

The Diller Lyceum Club committee adopts a plan to sell season tickets and assign seats in three classes with prices for adults and children. First class holders choose first at 10 p m on Sept 24 in Loock’s hall, with proxy allowed. Second and third classes follow in order. Single night seats priced to reflect eight-entertainment course. A list of planned acts includes Kellogg Haines and Ralph Bingham among others.

A Bank Story About Duplicate Payments
