A Sunday noon dinner at the Willis Kennedy home near Fairbury drew a crowd of relatives and friends. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Willis Clark with daughter Carolyn, Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Diller schools will close for three days next week as teachers attend the Nebraska State Teachers Association meeting in Lincoln from November 5 to 8. The county superintendent orders all schools closed and rural grade and high school teachers to attend. they will receive normal pay for the time spent per law.
Fairbury notices that the 1924 Jefferson county tax rates are held by local bankers for collection. Taxpayers may begin paying immediately. earlier payments replenish road funds. The message is issued by B L Jenking Co, urging prompt payment to support county finances.
