W.S.C.S. Hosts Alaska Mission Plan and Oct Gathering

The W S C S held a last Thursday meeting in the Methodist Church basement with 25 members and guests. An Alaska mission lesson was given by Mrs James Hays with Mrs Chester Weaver as co pilot and others speaking on Alaska work. They decided to hold the annual Bezaar and church supper December 4 and plan a Whisker Club party November 3 at 7 30 at city hall funded by ball game proceeds for refreshments.

Diller Woman's Club Holds October Meeting

A large crowd attended the Diller Woman's Club session with Mrs. E Weigel presiding. Mrs. O J Mayborn read the minutes as program head Mrs S Miller led This Freedom of Ours featuring a vocal solo and a pledge to the flag. Members enjoyed patriotic singing and learned of tours to the Freedom Train display in Lincoln and the United Nations exhibit at the Live Library. Mrs Clara Allen presented Hawaiian flower slides and plans were discussed for a trip from Topeka Kansas to the Keefover farm east of town.

Diller Community Club Notes Highlights October Meeting

The Diller Community Club met in the city hall flat with good attendance Friday evening despite the president Mex Logan’s absence. Mrs S Miller presided as Lois Beatty read minutes, Supt H Frazee introduced the Liber achoole teachers, a madrigal choir sang, and Mrs Fern Ratzisff spoke on a Europe trip. The club praised the school program and will announce the next meeting via The Diller Record.
