Bolles, once Ohio amateur boxing champ, defended himself with swift blows and the assailant fled. He also notes a Sacramento Nebraska post office proposed closure facing a petition from 73 patrons. He recalls his grandfather’s blacksmith shop in Sacramento and urges preserving small local post offices for community service.
