Mr and Mrs WC Luce of Mc Gregoria visited Republican City on Sunday noon then stayed until Monday noon with F E Shutt. Shutt once ran in Luce’s drug store in Republican City and welcomed the visit. Meanwhile Luther S Marstellar of Abaline Kan injured on the French front is reported by his parents. He was drafted from Jefferson county to Camp Funston April 16 and had worked locally for Geo Riddle and others before service.
A Mabyorn visited Omaha last week and bought cattle feed in the vicinity of Diller. The report notes the selection and purchase of feed at a regional supplier.

A Red Cross committee oversees Christmas packages for boys in service abroad. Each package must weigh no more than two pounds eleven ounces, fit a 9 by 4 by 3 inch carton, and include a mailed label. Packages, with postage not exceeding 26 cents, go back to Red Cross for inspection and mailing, with a deadline of November 15 and inspection by November 11.
