Mr and Mrs Thos Rand motor to Lincoln Sunday to see their son Richard in a state orthopedic hospital where he is improving from a spinal deformity and now attends school there.
The Record reports fine autumn weather. Diller Filling Station offers barrel oil or gas delivery. F Hartzel received two-car loads of cattle Tuesday for his feed yards.
George Strockey and his family started their journey on Saturday for destinations in California and Oregon. Miss Grayce Myers traveled to Falls City last week to take a teaching job in the city high school mathematics department.
Miss Gertrude Davison of Kansas City is visiting her mother Mrs. A. C. Jefferys at a home near Diller.
A. Mayborn bought 162 head of feeding cattle at Omsha Wednesday for Henry Wallbaum near Jansen.
Mr and Mrs Harry King and children from Beatrice spent Sunday in Diller at the home of her parents Mr and Mrs R L Oaks.
Max Logan son of Mr and Mrs W T Logan sustained a broken arm while attempting to crank his automobile last week.
Mrs. Ab Bristor and her daughter Ethel traveled to Odell yesterday to accompany Mr. Bristor's mother, who had been visiting for several days at his home.
W H Schnuelle and his family from Fairbury visited Sunday at the home of Mrs Steffen and her husband F W Steffen, the couple being the parents of Mrs Schnuelle.
Mr and Mrs John Carrico moved to Diller from Falls City and will stay this winter at the John W Miller property on Lavelle street. In spring they plan to move to a farm southeast of town where much of the land will be seeded to alfalfa.

Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Madden their son Rex and Mrs. Madden's sister Mrs. Fuller of Potter Nebr were seriously injured when their auto overturned in a ravine due to a broken steering knuckle. They formerly lived near Diller and are parents of Lawrence Madden.
Dr. Adams succeeds Dr. Garland at 1114 N. 6th St Beatrice. Diller visitors Geo Riddle E E McCune S C Moser and Herman Sasse visited the county seat Tuesday. Jorden Sanmann saw Nebraska lose to Missouri in Lincoln Saturday. Oscar Brasel and Miss Ada Weigle of Fairbury called on Mrs T H Waggoner and husband Sunday.
A Custer county farm wife hatched a litter of quails from eggs kept warm by the heat of an electric lamp and wrapped in cotton.
Mrs. A. M. Strawhacker and her two daughters Cora Tucker and Genevieve Strawhacker of Fairbury visited Sunday at the John Pulee home.
Dr and Mrs F M Blair and family with Mrs Wayne Richardson and Miss Irene Beckwith of Fairbury join Mrs A B Bridwell and Mrs A Abel of Steele City and Mr and Mrs S A Woods of Beatrice for a Sunday visit at H H Beckwith home.
C. H. Cully and family drove to Lincoln on Saturday and visited Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Robertson, returning Sunday evening. Cloyd reports W. G. Robertson is busy selling Chevrolet cars and trucks, having produced two cars and one truck in the past week.
Mr and Mrs Harry W Cozad of Santa Ana California former Gage county residents return from Chicago and Illinois Iowa tours to visit relatives in Beatrice. They drive to their 250 acre farm southeast of Diller where George Roseman lives and stop to subscribe for the Record to stay informed on local events.
The J N C group met Mrs Emma Wieths on Wednesday October 13 with twelve members and four children. The afternoon featured a piano solo by Mrs Zadie Frisbie and a Charleston by Master Vernon Hubka. A luncheon followed and the next meeting is set for Mrs Alice Hays October 27 with work.
B B Kensington met with Mrs Luther Marstell on October 13 with many members present. Mrs Clarence Renz and Mrs Claude Woods led an entertainment troop including family characters and a parodic rendition of How Do You Do. An October 26 tea at Mrs Harry Ahrends was announced, with household hints and planning for the club's anniversary in November.
The Women’s Club met at the Christian church on Tuesday October 12 with nineteen members and ten visitors. Mrs Dora Schainost of Gilead Neb spoke as state chairman of Americanization and noted her foreign night school and commendations from the Federal government.
A Cuba Kansas report notes four carloads of cabbage arriving in two weeks for local sauer kraut. Population 485 Bohemian town. Cars carried about 19 600 heads averaging just over five pounds each. Cabbage grown northeast of Denver and a fifth car is planned.
M. W. A. meets on the second and fourth Thursday each month. Mr. and Mrs. P. I. Ellis and family near Harbine visited with them Sunday, along with friends of Mr. and Mrs. Riley Tucker in Holt county.
