Women's Clubs Convene in Fairbury for State Meeting

The thirty ninth annual Nebraska Federation of Women's Clubs opened in Fairbury Monday night and runs to Thursday with headquarters at the Mary-Etta Hotel. Day programs at the Majestic theatre and evening sessions in the Junior high auditorium feature a Norris versus Wellensick debate on one house Norris amendment and several key resolutions on temperance education pure food unemployment crime control and public education standards. About three hundred delegates attend.

Delinquent Taxes Listed for Jefferson County

The Fairbury Journal published all delinquent real estate taxes last week and they will be offered for sale on Monday November 65th 1034. The list covers delinquents from 1871 to 1933 totaling $74 000 with notes on sums per town including Fairbury which holds about one third of delinquents totaling $38 250 40.

Beatrice High School Band Receives Funds for Uniforms

1000 Gallon Distillery Raided Near Milligan

Federal officers raided a barn 4 miles south of Milligan seizing a 1000 gallon alcohol daily operation. Three men captured near a tunnel leading from the barn amid gunfire. one, Geo Conniley of Milwaukee, wounded. Morgan and Havel arraigned at Lincoln with hearing set. Seized 700 gallons of alcohol and extensive distillery gear.

Peru College Homecoming Events Schedule 1930s

Peru State Teachers College invites alumni to Homecoming on October 20 with registration and band demonstrations in the forenoon. A 2 PM football game Chadron State Eagles vs Peru Bobcats, a 7 PM homecoming play Ladies of the Jury, and a 10 PM alumni dance in the gym.
