Jos. Kennedy and his wife went to a Peoria hospital for a stomach cancer operation but doctors advised against it and the procedure was not performed. He returned home Wednesday.

Hoosier Drill representative visits Council Bluffs

C. A. Mills of Council Bluffs Iowa, son in law of Dr Kelley and former Diller schools principal, spent a day or two this week in the city representing the Hoosier Drill company. He is greeted warmly by many friends who recall his jovial nature.

Visitors from Nebr and Ohio praise Diller city

Mr Geo Bond and wife of Kearney Nebraska, Perry Cover of Ohio, and Wm Lamb of Cub Creek visited J L Lamb’s family in Diller yesterday. Mrs Bond and Mrs Lamb are sisters, Cover is a cousin, Lamb is a brother. They plan several days of visiting and call Diller an enterprising city.

Diller Parents Seek Missing Daughter Dora West in Lincoln

Mr and Mrs J N Ellis of Diller appeal to police to locate their daughter Dora L West or Mrs Clay L West who was in Lincoln recently and telephoned them. Ellis is very ill and wishes to see her again. Police are asked to ensure she buys a ticket to Diller when found. No trace was located yesterday. Mrs West is currently at her parents home in the city.

Woman Gives Birth On Lincoln to Diller Train

A woman traveling from Lincoln to Diller aboard the Beatrice Express gave birth in a lavatory aboard the train near Crete. Conductor Jack Pennington assisted, providing care and seating for mother and newborn until arrival in Wymore where they received medical attention. The mother, Mrs. L. H. Lewis of Wisconsin, and her family continued the journey after the event.

A new vital statistics law took effect in Nebraska October 1 requiring births and deaths to be reported to appointed registrars or sub registrars who maintain records for sanitary and statistical purposes. Burial and removal permits are required. penalties include fines or jail time. The state registrar appointed Henry Eaton and sub registrars Thos. P. Price and D. R. Kelley for Diller vicinity.
